In 2009 Enlace realized a long-held dream. Last spring we were able to start the Enlace Institute. Its purpose is to develop strategic planning and organizational development expertise in low-income community organizations and in the movement for social and economic justice in the United States and Mexico. Among our many goals for the Enlace Institute are two key ones: improving the economic standing and the leadership skills of low-wage workers and strengthening and stabilizing low-wage workers organizations.

New York Training :: Entrenamiento en Nueva York
En el 2009 Enlace realizó un sueño de mucho tiempo. La primavera pasada logramos iniciar el Instituto de Enlace. Su propósito es desarrollar la planificación estratégica y de desarrollo organizativo en organizaciones de bajos recursos y en el movimiento por la justicia social y económico en México y en los EEUU. Entre nuestras muchas metas del Instituto de Enlace hay dos claves: mejorar la posición económica y las habilidades de liderazgo de trabajadores de bajos recursos y fortalecer y estabilizar las organizaciones de trabajadores de bajos recursos.

Make Wall Street Pay Campaign

At the beginning of 2009, our Immigrant Inclusion Project evolved into a new campaign – Make Wall Street Pay. Our goal has been to shift public debate on the economic crisis from ignoring the needs of immigrants and people of color (and in fact justifying the increasing right-wing racist attacks on them) to the source: the international financial institutions which caused the current crisis in the U.S., Mexico, and worldwide as well as the mid-1990s takeover of Mexican banks that resulted in families losing homes and businesses and decimated the social infrastructure, leading to the subsequent massive wave of migration by economic refugees to the U.S.

Hacer que Wall Street Pague

Al principio del 2009, nuestro Proyecto Inclusión del Inmigrante evoluciono a una nueva lucha- Hacer que Wall Street Pague. Nuestra meta ha sido cambiar el debate sobre la crisis económica que ignora las necesidades de inmigrantes y personas de color (y de hecho justifica la incrementación de ataques racistas contra ellos) a la raíz verdadera del problema: las instituciones financieras internacionales que causaron la crisis actual en EEUU, México y a nivel mundial, así como a mediados de los 90’s adquirió bancos mexicanos que dieron lugar a la perdida de casas y negocios para muchas familias lo cual rompió la estructura social, que al final forzó una ola masiva de inmigración a EEUU.
