Solidarity with Taiwanese Workers
Workers at Young Fast Optoelectronics (YFO) in Taiwan have been organizing against terrible work conditions that include child labor and unfair wages. In 2009 the workers formed a union but in March 2010 fifteen workers were illegally fired for their union affiliation. They are asking for your support to pressure the Taiwanese government, the YFO factory and its suppliers.
Click here to send a letter to demand justice for YFO workers.
STRACC Strike
Enlace member STRACC is currently on strike, it is time to let them know they are not alone and join in solidarity with their struggle.
Gasoline workers in Mexico City don’t receive any regular salary but survive from tips, and they are not registered as actively working in government offices. This past March 23rd they came out on strike to push for an independent union. The government completely ignored them and the union has since taken the case to the state courts. The workers await Judge Tomas Martinez Tejada to be just and accept the claims of workers as to proclaim their strike legal.
Please send a letter in solidarity with STRACC to the Judge asking him to be fair and just. Please email (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address))or fax the letter to (55) 5133-8100. Please note the letter is in Spanish.
