Enlace
Enlace is a strategic alliance of low-wage worker centers, unions, and community organizations in Mexico and in the U.S. We partner with our member organizations in international campaigns to motivate abusive multi-sector transnational corporations to treat workers and communities with dignity and respect. Enlace uses an integrated approach to organizing, creating unique campaign strategies while developing systems strengthening organizations internally. Our strategies often cross industrial and sector lines for reasons relating to both workforce development and campaign strategy.
In addition, the Enlace Institute presents trainings in strategic organization development that were developed over the many years of learning through our campaigns. Our collaborative brainstorming processes are useful for virtually all work groups in base-building organizations.

City of Lights Annual Awards Dinner
Our first ever City of Lights Annual Awards Dinner on August 12th! It will be an exciting, festive event with great food, music, a silent auction, and an awards presentation held in Downtown LA at the MALDEF Building (634 S. Spring St., LA, CA 90014).
City of Lights is a volunteer driven program of the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition that I coordinate. Our mission as City of Lights is to empower Latino immigrant cyclists through community building, bicycle advocacy, and education. You can learn more about our work with day laborer cyclists via this video. We are one of the only organizations nationwide to bridge the gap between environmental/social justice, bicycles, and immigrants, one of the largest groups of cyclists in LA County.
We will be presenting awards to honor our allies who have greatly supported our work and immigrant cyclists. Councilman Ed P. Reyes, Raul AƱorve and Ernesto Vazquez of IDEPSCA, and Jose Veliz of CARECEN have all helped us to grow a larger movement with immigrant cyclists and the City.
Join us in increasing the visibility and voice of Latino cyclists by attending on August 12th! Tickets are $35 each before August 1st, $45 after August 1st. Please visit our website, http://www.la-bike.org, to reserve tickets, or see attached form for mailing checks. RSVP on our Facebook page or email me at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or call me on my cell at: 323-706-8320.
